We specialize in groundwater protection, geological and hydrogeological surveys, remediation of contaminated sites, geological prospecting of deposits, and exploration of mineral resources in the Czech Republic and internationally. Thanks to our long-term experience and professional background, we are among the most experienced specialists in the field of geoscience and environmental solutions.
As part of the company's development, our activities have been expanded to include the subsidiary OPV Zambia, which provides professional geological and environmental services in Zambia. OPV Zambia, která zajišťuje odborné geologické a environmentální aktivity v Zambii.
History of OPV
1991
The company was founded as a consortium of individuals working in the field of hydrogeology and environmental protection. The founders were Jiří Čížek, František Kozák, and Jaroslav Žák.
1993
Ochrana podzemních vod, s.r.o. is established as a limited liability company.
1995
The company headquarters moves to Prague 6, a permanent laboratory is established, and the team expands to over 10 employees.
1997
A branch office is opened in Liberec (later also in České Budějovice).
1999–2000
Purchase and renovation of the company's headquarters on Bělohorská Street in Prague 6.
Introduction of the ISO 9001 quality management system.
2002–2003
Acquisition of JAK spol. s r.o. and organizational division of activities.
The number of completed projects exceeded 1,000.
2004
Successful completion of the international CORONA project and launch of innovative remediation methods.
2006
Expansion of the company's activities abroad (Slovakia, Kosovo, Africa).
2010
Accreditation of the ČIA laboratory No. 1577.
Award for "Best Company in the Czech Republic in the Field."
2011–2018
Expansion of activities to include environmental risk assessment, mining storage facilities, and expert supervision.
Changes in the company's ownership structure.
2022
Sale of the historic headquarters at Bělohorská 31 and entry of new partners.
2025
Establishment of the subsidiary OPV Zambia as a result of international cooperation and a step towards the long-term operation of the OPV group in Africa.
2025
Renaming of the company to OPV s.r.o.
Termination of the accredited laboratory's activities.
