Hydrogeological assessment of groundwater
Since 2018 , OPV has been operating in the United Arab Emirates, where it has been involved in hydrogeological and environmental projects in the extremely arid conditions of the Middle East. One of the key projects was the assessment of groundwater in the Bu Hasa gas field for ADNOC Gas Processing..
Despite the dry climate, the area has favorable infiltration conditions and links to important hydrogeological structures in the region.
Solution
The project included:
- sampling and analysis of groundwater from existing wells and boreholes,
- installation of systems for continuous monitoring of groundwater levels,
- performance of pumping tests,
- evaluation of the quantity and quality of water resources,
- analysis of environmental risks and possibilities for using water for irrigation.
Result
Based on the results, the investor obtained expert documentation for sustainable water resource management in the mining area. The project became the basis for further OPV activities in the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.
